This money goes directly to the Oak Creek Elementary emergency supply fund, and helps to maintain emergency supplies at the school.

As part of the overall disaster preparedness plan, the Irvine Unified School District strongly recommends each student have adequate supplies on hand in the event of a natural disaster or other emergency situation. Accordingly, Oak Creek Elementary purchases and stores "bulk" emergency supplies on behalf of each student in one central accessible location. Should a disaster occur, our bulk storage of emergency supplies will provide essential equipment and provisions for our students (fresh water, food bars, blankets, first aid supplies, etc). A fee is being collected for each Oak Creek Elementary student to offset costs to purchase an adequate number of supplies and/or to replace items that have expired.
