Oak Creek PTA is proud to bring Art Masters Legacy to our students again this year–thanks to your generous donations during the Fall Pledge Drive.

On November 4th, students will “meet” Paul Cezanne at the PTA-sponsored Art Masters Legacy assembly. During the assembly students will learn of Cezanne’s masterful use of the art element shape. Students will also be introduced to the importance of the cone, cylinder, sphere and cube to the French painter. The week after the assembly students will create their own tissue collage still life or landscape composition using basic shapes, as Cezanne would have.

If you’d like to like to volunteer in your child’s classroom during the art lesson please sign up here:

Thank you for supporting the PTA so we can bring wonderful programs such as this one to our school.

Fall Book Fair

We are excited to announce that our Fall Scholastic Book Fair will take place the week of Nov. 7th.

Book fair open hours are:

  • lunch time (11:15 am to 1:10 pm) and
  • after school at (2:10 – 3:15 pm).

This is a critical fundraiser for our library, as it is the only source of income our library receives to purchase new books.  Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to help our school and get some early holiday shopping done!

If you have time to help out at the Book Fair, we still need more volunteers after school, between 2:10-3:15pm.  If you can help, please click on link below:

Our IncREDible Week at Oak Creek

The Oak Creek PTA helps sponsor district wide Red Ribbon Week.  Red Ribbon week was a huge success  this year and our Wise Owls had fun learning how to ,“respect themselves, make good choices and remain drug free.”

Oak Creek “All Hands” Pledge Board – Red Ribbon Week 2016

To kick off the week, the student council and volunteers decked our campus in red ribbons and posters!  With Oak Creek spirit, our students signed cards pledging to lead healthy and helpful lives and also accepted a challenge to do acts of kindness for others.

As the week went forward, we wore Hawaiian clothes to remind us to “Lei off drugs” and proved that “we have the power to make good choices” by wearing Super Hero outfits.  Our students dressed up as their future profession, showing that they won’t let drugs get in the way of their goals.  as daily red ribbon themed prizes were awarded.

Thank you for all the pennies donated!

Our school collected a total of 447 pounds of “pennies for prevention” – benefiting the Irvine Prevention Coalition –  with Mrs, King’s and Ms. Lee’s classes bringing in the most!

The highlight this year was our “All Hands” Pledge Board where each and every student posted a hand and a new wise choice that he or she has decided to make!   We learned that when we stand together and support each other with kindness, we can be strong and INCREDIBLE!
